e were excited to kick off NYC Pride Week with Rainbow Fashion Week, focusing on inclusion and body positivity. With their huge diversity of models, bold fashion statements, and powerful themes, the eight-day series of events artfully intertwined self-expression and social issues. The event was hosted at a beautiful Splacer venue.
Founder, E. Jaguar Beckford recounts, “We were welcomed by a wonderful host church, who opened their doors and hearts to our community in solidarity for Pride Week. We could have not asked for more and we are so looking to bringing you greater things next year, so get ready for the ride.”
Rainbow Fashion Week gave LGBTQ creatives and businesses visibility and fostered a sense of community. It also raised awareness and funds for issues such as environmental responsibility, child abuse, domestic violence and youth empowerment, teen & LGBTQ homelessness and sustainability, bullying, human trafficking, and mental health.
