AK hosted their Spring/Summer 2017 presentation in a multi-level Splacer venue in Chelsea. Directly inside you were met with a Mamont Vodka bar and ice sculpture (a welcome visual given the blistering heat outside) led to a staircase that brought you down to a viewing area for the show. Well dressed guests packed into the white-walled space to photograph and fawn over the urban-chic wear the models were sporting. This seasons line featured full denim looks, leather jackets topped off by sleeked back hair with braids and standout gold hoops. The look was explicitly inspired by singer, Sade, who was referenced in their DIY “Sade Concert Tee[s]”. Twenty or so wispy girls lined up against the white walls of the space where onlookers could view from across the room or from an overlook on the second story. All in all, the presentation was an elegant throwback to 80’s and 90’s look balanced with modern influences.
