The Box SF 3rd Floor

The Box SF’s 3rd floor offers two rooms for your event: The Main Room and The Gate Room (with our 335 year old Chinese gate table). Both rooms are included in your rental time and can accommodate up to 50 guests. The rental times are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM to Midnight. These 8 hour blocks include time for set up and break down of your event. Additional hours can be purchased upon availability if needed. Your rental includes the selected space in our venue for your chosen 8 hour time slot, an on-site venue manager, WiFi, the use of our antique Chinese Gate table, our historic freight elevator, and a cleaning fee. Door security is required for events after 6 PM. A 20% service fee will be added to your event grand total that includes: production time, coordinating your event, time spent coordinating with vendors, internal planning for space set up and reset, as well as adjusting time schedules and accommodating any last minute details we may run into. It also includes an on-site venue manager for the duration of your event. For each event, we do require a Special Event Liability Insurance for $300, however, you are more than welcome to provide your own from a private source with our necessary policy coverages. The Box SF’s 2nd floor offers 3 private meeting suites for your events. Our smaller suites, Webster and Willy, accommodate 4 to 12 guests for private meetings or break outs. Our larger suite, Buddy, can host up to 30 guests in a variety of configurations. Each suite is rented in 4 hour time blocks, from 8 AM to Midnight. The entire building was once the William Randolph Hearst newspaper printing plant. Our venue is an elegantly cool historic private meeting and event space in San Francisco’s South of Market convention district. We offer 5 meeting rooms and conference spaces on 3 floors for classes, off-sites, day meetings, brainstorming session or just a private office. Each of our spaces are filled with Antique Furniture and are unique! Here you can step back in time. For special occasions we have a historic Letterpress Printing shop and 1850's mercantile on our ground floor, it can be rented for creative off-sites, small board meetings, classes, workshops, film and video shoots and receptions. Wifi is included. We can add full bar packages, multiple catering options or charge an outside catering fee if you prefer a caterer not on our approved list. We're conveniently located only two blocks west of the Moscone Convention Center, two blocks from the Civic Center BART/Muni station, and a five-minute drive from Union Square. We are easily accessible from both the Bay Bridge and both highways 101 and 280.
