Welcome to a classic historic Flatbush townhome built in 1910 with an open floor plan. Two full floors of the house are available for rent, as well as the backyard. The kitchen / dinging room, living room, and bedroom are on the main parlor floor. Each room is spacious with high ceilings and beautiful original wooden floor boards running through the whole house. The rooms are separated by large arches between each room (no doors) allowing the house to feel open and grand, and is great for photography and film crews who need wide angles and depth for their shots. There are curtains between each room if you would like to section the house off. The decor of the house leans English cottage / rustic country style with bohemian touches, lots of natural wood tones and eclectic furniture and art. You may move any art or furniture to better fit your project as long as you put it back. There is a private garden with a porch in connected to the kitchen. The garden level has a second living room, guest bedroom, music studio, and dressing room. There are plenty more props and furniture to use downstairs. Large crews often choose to use the extra space downstairs as holding space as well as a place for craft services. All spaces are open for photo and film shoots, music video shoots, content shoots, dinner parties, and other artistic ventures and events. We accommodate for both production projects as well as private/public events. It is one of the largest single family homes in Upper Manhattan. This space is a well-preserved piece of Harlem's history. It is one of a row of seven townhouses designed in the late 19th Century by William B. Tuthill, the visionary architect of Carnegie Hall. Our space has been used for numerous TV shows, music videos, documentaries, and events. Some of the most notable being the music videos of Alicia Key's "Fallin" (the original piano is still in the home) and Mary J. Blige's "911". As well as the hit TV show "The Deuce" from HBO and much much more. This space is on a quiet block directly across the street from Marcus Garvey park on the East and the famous showroom of Harlem's legendary designer Dapper Dan on the West. It is just a short walk away from amazing restaurants, shopping and MTA transit (2 & 3 train) and a few blocks away from Central Park. The main space available is our Parlor floor that has a stage, piano, and 3 fireplaces. As well as the first floor that includes a living room with couches and a small office space (or powder room) for guest, with a large kitchen and open garden in the back. Our historic townhouse was built in the 1890s and we've lovingly and painstakingly restored it's original details ourselves to serve as both our home and a creative space for film and photo shoots. *Please note that while our listing photos are recent, some items/furniture are subject to change.* AREAS AVAILABLE FOR SHOOTING The house has three floors: the Parlor floor, Ground floor, and Top floor. *Bookings automatically include the spaces on the Parlor level only - the north parlor, south parlor, parlor bathroom, and connected hallway. The spaces on the Ground floor and the Top floor are not automatically included and they must be selected as an add-on.* RULES Our home is a welcoming, creative space for those seeking a productive retreat in beautiful surroundings - and it is also our home. As such, we ask guests to please be respectful of our space. This means: - Arrive on time and be ready to leave on time (overtime is charged at 1.5x the hourly rate) - No smoking under any circumstances inside the house ($200 penalty for smoking) - No partying, screaming, stomping on the stairs, etc. - No drugs, excessive drinking, or weapons of any kind - Mindfulness when it comes to muddy/wet shoes, items that may scratch the floors or walls, etc. - Respect when it comes to the various valuable and fragile pieces of furniture that we have in the house. ADDITIONAL CHARGES - $50 cleaning fee for groups using the Ground floor kitchen. - We may ask for a $200 security deposit for larger groups, payable before the start of your booking and reimbursed within 24 hours after booking end, barring any damages/overages. - Our maximum capacity is 30 people. If there are more than 30 people in your group on site on the day of your booking, there will be an over capacity charge of $100/person. - Please make sure to be accurate when specifying the number of attendees you need for your booking. If your group exceeds the number of attendees agreed at the time of booking you will be charged an additional $100 per hour per additional person over the number agreed. - Overtime is charged at 1.5x the hourly rate. We are artists ourselves and know full well that the creative mind needs freedom and flexibility so we always work with our guests to make their time with us as comfortable as possible while still preserving the condition of our home. GETTING HERE Our home is located in Mott Haven in the South Bronx, just across the Harlem River from Manhattan with easy access to the 4, 5, and 6 trains. There is free street parking making load in and load out easy.
