The Space

With views across Silicon Valley, this gated cabin sits on 2 acres of resort-like setting. We have flower gardens and walking paths, seating nooks throughout the property, U-Pick tomatoes, apples and flowers in season for our guests. At night you can watch the sun set from the flower gardens and then move to our 1600 square foot deck to watch the lights of Silicon Valley come on (see photo). Events: For an outdoor bbq for a family, we have badminton, ping pong and corn hole plus soccer balls and frisbees. For a wedding, we have 2 outdoor spaces, one in the garden looking beyond to oak trees and mountains, and one on the deck overlooking Silicon Valley. We have 2 indoor spaces as well, our great room, and our loft which opens up above our great room. Choose the space for your ceremony and reception (no loud music please). We can keep the ping pong and corn hole out, or put it away depending on the mood of your wedding. :-) For a small bridal shower or a baby shower, set up your party under our redwood arbor with climbing pink roses. Celebrate graduation with a cocktail party that begins in the great room and flows out two French doors onto the deck or host a dinner party under the stars. Or host an outdoor movie night, or a family reunion camp-out, we have space for 20 tents on the property. If you are here for a retreat, there are abundant private nooks in nature (our property is 11 acres total, much of it wild), as well as in the house for quiet contemplation or reading or writing. There is a family of quail and deer who regularly visit the outdoor seating spaces. If you are here for an off-site, we have 2 tables that each seat 10, one outside on the deck and one inside in the great room. We set our work tables with fresh flowers from the garden, fast pens, and stacks of paper. We also have the amenities you would expect for a business meeting: fast Wifi, a large screen TV, a large white board, a paper flip chart, a projector and screen. For a more casual meeting, our loft has seating on sofas, chairs and large floor pillows for 20. We provide laptop desks as well in the space. There is plenty of seating through out the house and grounds for much larger numbers. Take breaks during the day with a round of ping pong or a walk on our trail up to our property's high point with a view the length of the San Francisco Bay. Eat lunch at the picnic table there. For quiet work, our library sits up high against madrone trees and feels like a tree house. Relax at the end of the day by grilling on the deck. Take a 4 pm breather and go for a hike in El Sereno Open Space Preserve: the trail starts 1/2 mile down the road. If you need an animal petting break, we have friendly outdoor cats on the property, as well as 2 rabbits and 2 guinea pigs who live in a kennel and a converted shed. We can provide temporary chairs and tables to seat up to 50 guests: you can expand the capacity with our benches and other tables. The rate here is the rate for renting the property on weekends for events up to 25 guests. Costs are higher for more guests and lower for weekday 9-5 rentals.
