The Space

Unique and charming 3,500 sq. foot studio space in Highland Park with all the production capabilities to host your event. Perfect for photo shoots, video shoots, live streams, pop-up events, concerts and everything in between. Wifi (600/35), kitchenette, bathroom, refrigerator, and private office space on-site. Driveway attached to the space means easy load-in and load-out with an extra-wide 20ft garage door. Central air and heating equipped. Portable walls can be utilized for photo/video shoots. Capacity is 15 people maximum due to Covid-19 safety precautions. LIVE-STREAM CAPABILITIES Hot Shot Muffler has full video & audio capabilities to record and live-stream your content. From podcasts to live concerts, presentations to executive meetings, we have the equipment and space you need for a high quality and professional look. LOCATION Right in the heart of Highland Park's York Boulevard strip, 3-5 min walk to several great restaurants, bars, shopping 10 minutes from downtown 10-20 minutes from Silverlake, Echo Park, Los Feliz 3-5 min drive to popular Highland Park Figueroa district PARKING Driveway large enough for 4-8 cars appx. Street parking is ample with minimal restrictions ALCOHOL POLICY Allowed If brought in and not charged for Must check ID's for events serving alcohol If selling, you must have a special event liquor license INSURANCE We recommend purchasing additional insurance through Event Helper: https://www.theeventhelper.com/#wV3s8c RULES $150 cleaning fee applies to all rentals Site rep required at $20/hr. No open flames No smoking inside the space - smoking on the driveway is fine but all butts must be picked up and disposed of properly All trash must be brought to trash cans in driveways Rental time period includes load-in and load-out times 11 pm curfew for live music performances

Health and SafetyHealth & Safety Policy

Hot Shot Muffler is in compliance with all health and safety measures laid out in HOO Stage 3 Appendix J, the “COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER OF THE HEALTH OFFICER” regarding “Reopening Protocol for Music, Television and Film Production”. This includes having: • A workplace COVID Compliance Officer (C19CO) on staff, who has established and enforces COVID-19 safety protocols. • Available PPE and infection prevention supplies available, including face coverings, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, gloves, hand washing stations, etc. • Increased ventilation, including HVAC, industrial fans, and a 20’x8’ roll up door which can remain open at all times. • A planned response, following guidance required by the County of Los Angeles, in case of an employee or guest informing us of a positive COVID-19 test. • Measures instituted to assure access to safety protocols and equipment for employees and guests who have mobility limitations. The layout of the studio has been reorganized to allow filming to happen in an “indoor / outdoor” space. According to the CDC, transmission rates are exponentially lower in outdoor scenarios vs. indoor scenarios, so by keeping the action close to the open garage door, and having the majority of the crew stay outside and socially distanced, we are able to create a much safer working environment.
