The Space

The home for the New York New Church and other nonprofit organizations, the historic building of the Mansion at Murray Hill was built in 1859 by followers of Emanuel Swedenborg, the Swedish religious philosopher. Our venues: The Sanctuary A traditional church sanctuary with pews that seat up to 220 people. It is home to a magnificent seven-foot Mason & Hamlin grand piano. The sanctuary is ideal for large events, worship services, weddings, lectures and concerts. Salon Our Music Salon / Studio is filled with light and has a small stage. It features a Yamaha baby grand piano and seats up to 40 people. This venue is perfect for salon-like music concerts, private soirees, lectures, film screenings, masterclasses, and seminars. This space is accessible by elevator. There is a wheelchair ramp into the building and handicap access bathroom. Built-in the Neo-Renaissance style with classic pediments and other architectural details, the building is on a 77-foot wide lot, and set back from the street, allowing for an elegant front garden.
