The Museum is a not-for-profit committed to educating and sharing stories and histories around food and drink. So much of our cultural identity and history can be discovered through food and drink as a storytelling vessel. The space is a unique interactive space that we hope to share with others as they search for the perfect venue.

The Space

Located on McCarren Park in the hip Williamsburg/Greenpoint area of Brooklyn, this venue is a one-of-akind location for your next event. With soaring 20-foot ceilings, industrial details, a sleek, modern design, and gadgets galore, it’s no surprise that it has been described by the Architect’s Newspaper as “Eames’ office meets Willy Wonka.” THE SPACE • 4,000 SF available for use, including 1,700 SF gallery, 700 SF cocktail area, 1,000 SF reception, and 300 SF kitchen. • Standard rental includes private guest access to Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant, featuring a 7,250 take-out box wall, 1,500 lb. fortune cookie machine, an induction studio kitchen, and a one-of-akind Smell Synth that allows guests to compose over 500,000 di erent  avors. • Capacity of up to 75 standing. AMENITIES • In-house furniture available: 80 banquet chairs, 8 high tables, 4 six-foot banquet tables. • 300 SF kitchen, expandable to 500 SF, equipped with four induction cooktops, two half-size convection ovens, refrigerator, freezer, and full range of cookware and smallware. • 90” TV, PA and sound system, wi- , and house lighting. OPTIONAL PACKAGES TASTING TOURS: Get a private experience of our current exhibition, Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant followed by a wine and beer reception and featured tasting. Includes: • Museum tour and private demonstration of our fortune cookie machine • Demonstration on Chinese American cooking techniques and tasting by our Exhibition Chef, John Hutt • Wine and Brooklyn Brewery Beer reception • In-house cocktail rounds and linen • In-house six-foot tables, chairs, PA system, 90” mounted television screen, and Wi-Fi POP-UP DINNERS: Looking for a pop-up space for your next friends and family dinner? Or perhaps you need space to test out your next dining concept.. Includes: • Full use of kitchen and prep space • Full use of demo induction station with mounted GoPro camera • In-house electrical equipment (i.e. induction burners, convection ovens, blender, mixer, etc.) • In-house cooks tools • Glassware, Flatware, Napkins • Ceramic Plateware • (6) 8’ tables with linen • Seating for 48 guests • Sound system with (1) lav and (1) wired microphone CORPORATE FUNCTIONS Whether attracting press for a brand launch, planning an employee recognition event, or bringing in a chef for a private demo, our space is perfect for Corporate receptions and small dinners. Includes: • Museum rental for up to either 6 hours (M-Th) or 4 hours (Friday + weekends) • Reception Desk Bar • Full use of kitchen and prep space • Full use of demo induction station with mounted GoPro camera • (6) Induction Burners and (2) half sheet convection ovens • In-house tables, chairs, and linen • In-house cooks tools CHEF DINNERS Pick a theme, any theme!
