We are a classic, large-format big room, analog and digital recording studio nestled in South Williamsburg. This hand-built space features Protools HD 32 I/O, 2 inch Studer A827 24 track analog tape machine, a fully restored Harrison 4032c 40-channel analog recording console (same series the Thriller album was recorded on), a baby grand Yamaha piano, an impressive mic collection, and more. Please note while our usual people cap is much higher, we have temporarily capped count at 10 -15 people as per our new COVID-19 protocols to ensure proper social distancing. We have many other measures in place to continue hosting safe productions at our space, including new cleaning / sanitization protocols, placement of HEPA air filters, private testing options with fast turnarounds, etc. Note, use of our control room is now only permitted for special circumstances and for an additional fee. PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE BOOKING The Boombox Room in Brooklyn, NY is a playground for your creativity. This unique production studio breathes nostalgia through the massive collage of boomboxes and small retro finds like a working payphone and vintage tv. On the opposite side of the boomboxes, there is a color-blocking wall. On the wall opposite the window, there's a projector that can airplay any video content you have on your devices. Inquire more about lighting and staff. House rules: • DO NOT leave the door open during your booking. • DO NOT leave equipment in the hallway. DO NOT hang out in the hallways • NO LOUD MUSIC, NO LIVE MUSIC and NO excessive stomping on the floors. We have to respect the neighboring studios, especially during daytime hours. • NO outside speakers. There's a Boom 3 bluetooth speaker available for your use in the studio. • ABSOLUTELY no smoking marijuana, cigarettes, vapes in the studio or anywhere in the building - Any smoking will result in an $500 fee and an automatic non-refundable cancellation of your booking. • Your booking should show exactly how many people are attending. Bringing more people than mentioned is subject to an additional fee • The hallways and staircase and front of building are NOT a part of your booking. Please only use the studio space. • OVERTIME: Overtime is subject to 1.5 times the hourly rate extra charge If you do not notify the host 30 minutes prior to the end of your booking. We enforce overtime strictly and overtime starts the minute your time is up and is charged by 30 min intervals. • DO NOT lean on boomboxes and DO NOT move boomboxes on the wall. • Leave the space in the same condition that you found it, there is a trash bin located outside of the unit by the floors main door. Excess trash will result in an additional cleaning fee. • NO confetti, glitter, feather or anything similar should be used. This will result in an additional cleaning fee. • BE ON TIME. Your reservation must include all the time you need to set up, shoot, clean up, and vacate the studio. You cannot enter the studio early, and you’re expected to vacate your studio no later than the time your reservation ends. • Any excess cleaning fees will show up as an overtime charge.

Please send an inquiry with a description of your project, not a booking request. Film and Video productions (as opposed to still photography) have an additional fee of +$200/hour (i.e. $220/hr (base) + $200/hr (film surcharge)) = $420/hr for film and video projects. This surcharge is due to the need for multiple scouts, heavier footprint, wear & tear, and EQ associated with these shoots. Additional costs: - 1x $500 Site Rep Fee - 1x $200 Cleaning Fee The hourly rate increases as your headcount increases. Each additional crew over 10 is billed at a rate of $10 per head per hour. Finally, we require all bookings to put down a Security Deposit (5x hourly fee). This Security Deposit will be returned to your account within 5-10 business days assuming no damages occurred during your shoot. Someone from our team will be on site with you for the duration of the shoot to orient you in the space and also to verify head count and that all rules are followed. We have a 10 hour minimum, if you book for 6 hours you will be charged for 10 hours. If you book for 6 hours, you must still let us know if your schedule shifts. The safest way to plan to avoid overages like OT is to simply schedule yourself for the full 10 hours even if you do not anticipate needing the full amount of time. Large impact network/commercial filming will require a customized fee schedule. We do not accommodate discounts and cannot be flexible with minimum hours. You cannot book this location for a few hours. Do not message to ask. This brilliantly preserved and furnished location is unlike any other in our roster. The location is full of props and windows that are distinct to the borough. Complete with a massive skylight, textured walls, a bank vault, an office, and timeless furniture, there are endless opportunities for photo and film projects. We manage several locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn and have an extended amount of experience in production. When you book one of our spaces, you'll be connected to an on-site representative who will be with you throughout your production to orient you in the space and answer any questions. A certificate of insurance is required of all productions. Upon booking this location it's required to sign a Location Agreement. Absence of a signed Location Agreement can lead to the host canceling the booking. No nudity whatsoever. Heavy Equipment can’t be plugged into the Location’s power network. Crews should be aware that the Location runs on normal household power circulation and that they would need to arrange for an external power generator themselves may they have any Heavy Equipment in their EQ Package. The Location is not a professional ‘soundstage studio’. This sunny home Photo Studio, located in Williamsburg, is ideal for smaller crews (max 8 people recommended). The spacious high ceiling + sunny studio has newly been equipped and installed with a photo studio set up, seamless backdrops, production + lighting equipment, a styling room, hair + make up station, sofas, chairs and a modern kitchen area and bathroom. The main room contains a renovated kitchen to the left, with a wall of three South facing windows to the right, a seamless backdrop set up in the middle of the room with a 3-paper roll set up, a modern leather love seat, a hair + make up table / station, chairs, and access to a bathroom. The second room that comes with the rental of the space has two South to SouthWest facing windows, and is set up as a room for the stylists and models, equipped with a double bar extendable clothing rack, a sofa and coffee table. This side room can also be turned into a hair / make up room. The furniture can be moved around. The light in this side room is beautiful as well - possible additional shoot set up against the walls.
