Going Splaces: Fitz Talks #2 This Sunday

R

ecently, Splacer had the pleasure of partnering up and supporting a fascinating new project: Fitz Talks, a series of encounters and conversations focusing on arts and sustainability.

Being held on the first Sunday of every month, the talks focus on crucial cultural conditions and factors, such as climate change denial, individual carbon footprint choices, changing global taste for high carbon foods, the politics of intra-governmental action, and the role of income inequality in climate change.

This Sunday, Henry Rich will host Triple Canopy editor, Alexander Provan, for a conversation open to the public (5-6:30pm. RSVP: talks@fitzbk.com). Since 2007, Triple Canopy has advanced a model for publication that encompasses digital works of art and literature, public conversations, exhibitions, and books. Through its persistent inquiries into culture and the present conditions of its production, Triple Canopy became a central player in current discourse, poignantly commenting about publishing models, contemporary creative research and image making.

To continue tonight’s discussion in a communal atmosphere, the talk will be followed by a dinner ($10).

For the first talk, held in October, Rich invited Max Schorr, co-founder and director of GOOD, a media company focused on creative solutions for living well and doing good. Schorr, a 2014-15 affiliate of the Berkman Center (Harvard University) discussed the UN’s new sustainable development goals over the next 15 years.
