SPACIOUS IN SUNNYSIDE
Our amazing apartment is on the ground floor of a gut-renovated multifamily duplex on a tree-lined, suburban street in Sunnyside, Queens. It looks great inside and out!
PATIO & ROOF DECK
The front patio is accessed exclusively from our ground-floor apartment. It features comfy contemporary dark brown and orange outdoor furniture, BBQ and a fire pit. In summer, we decorate with beautiful flowering plants and a large umbrella. The patio is enclosed by a 6-foot forged fencing which is wrapped with solar-charged string lights for a touch of magic and whimsy. Garden hose and electricity are accessible on the patio.
We also have full use of a roof deck to the rear of the house, on top of the detached garage. Solid wood stairs, wrapped with solar lights, provide the way up. At the top you will find a large hammock and outdoor furniture which matches the patio set. The deck is boarded by a tiki-like bamboo privacy fence. It's the perfect place for margaritas.
LIVING ROOM & KITCHEN
Beautiful open LR and kitchen space. Huge sliding French-style doors at the east entrance allow abundant sunlight in morning, and soft indirect light most of the day. An oversized peninsula divides the LR and kitchen areas. Featuring a brown textured granite finish with classic solid wood bar stools. Tons of storage, a full wall oak-wood pantry, plenty of matching cabinets, a brand new dishwasher and a stainless steel oversized fridge encased in the wall. A commercial grade Wolf oven is topped with an overhead stainless steel hood. (The kitchen has been featured in online videos for Blue Apron!)
A trendy and eclectic personality with a Mediterranean air, a dash of chic and a contemporary attitude can be seen throughout the apartment. Several framed original NASA "space tourism" posters along with a classic Disneyland ride poster decorate the walls. A sexy lucha libre woman poster protects the entrance of the bedrooms. A life-sized faux bear head hangs from the exposed brick wall opposite the kitchen. The LR window is hung with vining (carnivorous) plants, giving the space a sense of urban-wilderness.
Energy-efficient appliances, recessed LED lighting, double-paned windows, central AC and heating and programable thermostat. The house is well insulated and keeps good heat during winter without little need to even turn on the heat. In summer, the house stays cool with little AC, particularly at night.
AUDIO & VIDEO
The apartment is fully wired with a stunning Bose sound system, inside and on the patio... evening in the bathroom.TV's, Apple TV's, Ipads, Iphones, Rokus and any other electronic systems, can be connected to the main sound console allowing to hear music and/or video on the living area, separated from the bedrooms. A 72" TV is wall-mounted in the LR.
Four incredibly friendly, cooperative (and photogenic) cats live with us. They can be placed with family whenever is needed. We also have a quiet, sleepy hedgehog, who can also be placed out of the environment as needed.
The quick-dry stone-walled bathroom features an oversized bathtub with handrails and glass doors. An ultra-relaxing rain shower is paired with body jets in the front wall. A floating Fusion Glass vessel sink is backed by a large mirror which rises flush to the ceiling. Dimmable LED lights add to the cozy luxury.
The master BR is 12'x10' and features modern wallpaper with a silver chandelier pattern. A large double-pane window faces west to the back balcony and roof deck. The closet features floor-to-ceiling mirror doors, recessed lights and a small safe. Electronics include Bose sound system, large TV, and ceiling fixture with light and fan.
The small second BR is 10'x9' and features Bose sound system, closet, and ceiling fan with dimmable light. The back door, to the balcony and roof deck, on the west wall of this room, which also has double-pane windows for tons of light (or coverable with a curtain).
Outdoor lighting for the patio and deck are controlled from the inside the apartment. There is also a surveillance web-cam installed in the living room that can be controlled from any mobile device.
The apartment includes a parking spot on the back, next to the garage. Street parking is relatively easy and plentiful.
A stylish, late-model Vespa 946 scooter is also available for rental use in photo shoots or other types of production, pending approval by the owner.
