The homeowner is also the home's designer; it's one of several 19th century structures that Tom has renovated in a similarly historic/modern fashion. His projects have been featured by Dwell magazine, Architectural Digest, and other noteworthy design forums and publications. He was also featured as part of Porsche's "Powered by Design" video series, showcasing innovative artists and designers on the leading edge of their craft. Tom lives full-time in NYC but sneaks away to the country as often as he can.

The Space

A classic 19th century Catskills barn reimagined as a light-filled, minimalist space, Barn at Floating Farmhouse features translucent panels of anodized aluminum, a soaring wall of zinc-coated steel, original woodwork and wavy-glass windows, and an enormous retractable wall opening the space to the sweeping lawns, ancient apple trees, towering pines, and private river surrounding it. Barn is located on the grounds of Floating Farmhouse, an 1820 manor home featured in Dwell magazine and available on Splacer as well.
