The Space
The space is approximately 2,000 ft with 13 ft 9 in high ceilings with 100-year-old blistered concrete and distressed brick walls. The huge industrial fan still works! Located in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The space is accessible via stairs and 1940s stainless steel freight elevator. The ground floor has a double truck loading area perfect for production crew loading equipment and material. We have loading ramps etc., nothing needs to be lifted. Essentially it could be rolled out of the vehicle into the freight elevator. The space has been utilized for its soundproof qualities, such as multiple interviews, live music recordings & audio filming. Walls are 1 ft thick brick with ceilings and floor solid concrete 2 ft thick. You cannot think of a typical industrial space- with other tenants making noise, -the Freight elevator going up and down or -truck traffic. We control the whole building. There are no other tenants, even the industrial freight elevator is controlled/ stopped. The Skylights, rear door and industrial fan can be controlled: blacked out or filtered for light. Distinguishable from a professional Sound Stage, this is the real deal. It's not 4 distinctive walls but the whole building is an organism dedicated to textural objects and distressed industrial artifacts making the space come alive. Most everything depicted, we have in-house. You would have to do an extensive two-stage pre-production, if at a professional soundstage, to replicate what we already have either on active display for usage or warehoused at the same location. The last photos of the listing, document in an organized fashion the work tables, apple boxes, seamless screens, fog machine, clamps, tripods- grip & gafting. Also is a list how our props and other options work. A detailed list how the space works with a breakdown of outlets and amps etc. We have a separate private library space which has its own AC and heating, which we rent out separately but could be used as a green room with prior agreed to terms. Likewise we have a separate additional bathroom with its own lockable dressing room. See our option terms. Back industrial exterior staircase and second floor rear garden area can be accessible upon prior arrangements. This is depending on your scope of your project.
