Located in the heart of downtown Chicago on famed Michigan Avenue, this new cultural gem is just steps away from Millennium Park and other cultural attractions, and a number of Chicago’s major hotels. Our event space offers flexible seating and can accommodate small groups or larger gatherings up to 250 for heavy hors d’oeuvres events, cocktail parties, fundraisers, corporate meetings and more.

The Space

Chicago’s rich literary history is the ideal setting for this cultural gem, an institution dedicated to celebrating American writers of the past, engaging in dialogue with writers of the present and inspiring writers of the future. Visitors get the chance to explore how the American voice has evolved through the years and the influence American writers have on our history, our identity, our culture and our daily lives. With interactive exhibits and immersive art installations, this space creates a contemporary and unique place for meetings, after hour receptions, and more. The 11,000 sq foot space can accommodate many different forms of events. The customizable TV monitors in the main event hall are ideal for business presentations. The entire space can serve 250 people for a fundraiser or cocktail party, and programs can be held for 90. Rental prices include the following amenities: Use of 10 sleek black highboy tables (linens not required) Up to 90 theatre style chairs Two coat racks with metal hangers Podium with a wireless PA system Handheld and Lavalier microphones Six black stanchions Eight cushioned corner arm chairs Use of 7 television monitors Three 6 ft folding tables (linens required) 4 panel chairs for programming discussions
