White Gallery Space - Natural Light

My space is located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, near Berg'n, and serves as an art gallery and performance space. On weekends the gallery is open and we have GHOST branded art openings, performances and music showcases. During the week (or at a premium on Sundays) the space is available to the public for rental. The building is a former foundry and most of the walls in the space are century old cinder block, brick or stone. Everything (literally everything) is painted ghost white, which works nicely with the different textures of the walls. The space is very cozy and has the feeling of a childhood dream fort. People are immediately at ease when they enter and it's often hard to get them to leave :) The main room is approximately 400 sq ft, with 20ft ceilings. There are four skylights which bring in tons of beautiful natural light during the day. There is a working wood stove which is fun and cozy for the Winter months. If you plan to use this during your visit, we'll need to discuss before hand. I have installed both fluorescent ceiling lights and a warmer flood lights on dimmers. Both can be turned on or off based on the mood of your gathering. The room off the main room is about 100 sq ft and has 8ft ceilings. Two of the walls in this room are drywall and the other two are stone. This room has one simple strip of track lighting. Above the cave is a room accessible by library ladder. The room is an amazing retreat from the main floor, especially during events. It has deep built-in lounge benches (soon to have custom cushions). There is also a skylight and a window looking onto the roof. This room has the same measurements as the cave. The lighting is warm floods. From the main entry to the building, guests are able to access the roof deck. The deck is complete with seating and a good sized table. During the Spring and Summer months we keep a small garden on the roof deck. Photos of this area are available upon request and will be added to this site shortly. Overtime is accrued for the full hour, 10 minutes past scheduled check-out. Smoking is allowed on the roof deck, but not in the space. Alcohol is welcome on the premises, though the sale of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Dogs welcome. Sorry, no cats. Looking forward to hosting you, Stephan
