Designed and built as an experiment in the possibilities of loft living, surreality and commercial space, The Love Shack is one open main space with other small spaces inside the two human-size dollhouses, creating a unique Alice in Wonderland magical experience. In this unique loft conversion almost every piece of furniture you see is an original design or an antique that has been heavily modified and restored. Max capacity 50 standing, no more than 40 recommended. Casual seating around the space for up to 25, including the possibility of a formal dining setup for 10. (Alternatively, folding table and chairs may be brought in to seat 20 for dinner parties.) Full working kitchen. Sound system connects directly to your phone or computer via headphone jack or Bluetooth. HD video projection on to 7ft x 4ft screen via HDMI, Thunderbolt or Display Port from your laptop or phone. Three friendly cats remain on premises but our Alen Breathesmart Air Purifier runs 24/7, eliminating dander from the air. Allergens have never posed a problem. They can also be kept in the Blue Egyptian room for the duration of the event - or boarded off site (at an additional fee) if preferred. Renter must book all time needed in the space, from setup to cleanup. $500-$1000 security deposit (varies by type of rental) will be held separately and refunded 24 hours following event, pending no damages or overtime. Also great for staging, if you have a big outdoor project in the area. A spacious office can be found upstairs, which overlooks the studio and provides a great client area or just a quiet place to work at during the shoot. Ground floor, so there is easy access for load in. There is also an adorable community courtyard, where your team can hang out in or shoot in case of nice weather. The building has a lot of shooting areas in the industrial hallways, and in the courtyard. If you need access to these, please let us know in advance. The building has it's own industrial / artist community vibe, with an adorable courtyard to hang out (or even shoot) in. It offers about 800 Sq Ft of shooting area, a sleek and spacious loft office space for your creative team upstairs, and a fully equipped chef's kitchen with brand new appliances. Tons of natural light can be used, as the studio has 2 skylights. Additional 220 V circuit installed. L train by Bedford avenue Station and M train by Marcy avenue are both about 10 minutes by walk, you can get into the West side of Manhattan in about 25 minutes by car or cab. Very easy load-in, as we are located on the ground floor and also have a small hand truck to help you out. The studio includes a large rack and a small folding clothing rack, steamer, stainless steel make-up table, A/V, large mirrors and high speed WiFi for no extra charge. There is also a curved 15 gallon fishtank with our friend, Pali the blue betta fish. We are pet friendly :) Our pricing varies for events or off-site, please contact us for an exact quote and let me know if you have any additional questions. Unfortunately we cannot allow loud / live music or DJs. We do not allow drinks or food on the white sofa upstairs. No glitter, sparklers or confetti either. Overtime will be billed in half-hour increments at a rate of 1.5 times our stated hourly rate. Please refer to Terms and Conditions of Splacer for all other rules. We will be on site during the entire booking to help you with any possible obstacles. If house rules are not followed, the event has to be terminated without a refund. A walk-through is preferred after every booking with our team member on-site. Furniture has to be moved back to it's original place if it is rearranged.
