Designed and built as an experiment in the possibilities of loft living, surreality and commercial space, The Love Shack is one open main space with other small spaces inside the two human-size dollhouses, creating a unique Alice in Wonderland magical experience. In this unique loft conversion almost every piece of furniture you see is an original design or an antique that has been heavily modified and restored. Max capacity 50 standing, no more than 40 recommended. Casual seating around the space for up to 25, including the possibility of a formal dining setup for 10. (Alternatively, folding table and chairs may be brought in to seat 20 for dinner parties.) Full working kitchen. Sound system connects directly to your phone or computer via headphone jack or Bluetooth. HD video projection on to 7ft x 4ft screen via HDMI, Thunderbolt or Display Port from your laptop or phone. Three friendly cats remain on premises but our Alen Breathesmart Air Purifier runs 24/7, eliminating dander from the air. Allergens have never posed a problem. They can also be kept in the Blue Egyptian room for the duration of the event - or boarded off site (at an additional fee) if preferred. Renter must book all time needed in the space, from setup to cleanup. $500-$1000 security deposit (varies by type of rental) will be held separately and refunded 24 hours following event, pending no damages or overtime. The main common space is around 1000 sq ft, with 15ft ceilings, and two large industrial south-facing windows that illuminate the space. Located in an old factory, the loft has a genial balance of white walls, wood texture's and brick, and has a comfortable bohemian vibe. Guests have access to the common space, kitchen, bathroom, a parking lot in the back of the building, and a spacious decked rooftop with views of Brooklyn and the Manhattan skyline. A notable feature that makes the roof unique are the coops of trained pigeons that dot the neighboring roofs - sometimes you can catch the neighbors corralling the pigeons with flags. The roof is equipped with working electrical outlets. Street parking is available and load in is a breeze. The Loft is located on the first floor of the building. Lighting - I've installed natural, dimmable lighting throughout, as well as limited dimmable gallery lighting. Ideal use of the space: Photoshoots and video shoots. Neighborhood: Latina neighborhood quickly becoming the vanguard of the Bushwick artist and young professional migration, a mix of old and new Bushwick. Maria Hernandez Park within walking distance, as well as coffee shops, restaurants, and street art. There are electrical appliance shops, a few groceries, and a hardware store all 2 minutes away in case you need any last minute or spur of the moment supplies for your production. I am a musician and often use the space to host musicians' parties, video shoots and photoshoots. When I'm not using the loft to create extra value via splacer, I utilize it as a resource for my creative community. It also has a couple of bedrooms and two toilets. When we have events the studio/living room configuration works well and allows for a subtle division of the event into sub-groups.
