For larger-scale affairs, the raw open space on our main level has endless potential and can be revamped in almost any way imaginable. It boasts discreet lobby access, street-side load-in and ramp, customizable stage decks/risers, blackout capability, wi-fi, additional side rooms, HD projector and screen, pro-audio sound system and color-adjustable LED light fixtures. For cozier get-togethers, our beautiful studio at the top of our building boasts a 90ft high vaulted ceiling with exposed original steel structure and gorgeous gothic window dormers. Ideal for intimate gatherings, screenings, and events, the space features elevator access, great natural night with blackout capability, hardwood floors, built-in bar, wi-fi, 1920 x 1200 HD projector, 87”x104” 16:10 HD screen, pro-audio sound system and full lighting grid. Capacity: 70 seated | 100 standing. We are a bookstore located just three blocks north of Madison Square Park and steps away from myriad cultural destinations. Our 5,000 square foot space occupies the ground-floor level of the historic St. James Building, dating back to the early 19th century. The bookstore boasts an imposing 18' tall by 34' wide glass façade that showcases the interior's eighteen-foot ceilings, a dramatic peaked skylight, and an expansive windowed salon entered via an striking red mullioned pivot door. Fixtures include cherry wood bookcases and grand brass and iron chandeliers. Our wallpaper was designed exclusively for us by Fornasetti Milano. The designs run as a frieze above the bookcases to the ceiling in all three grand rooms of the store, and feature surreal motifs of Italian cities floating in the clouds, hot air balloons, Zodiac figures and the classic Fornasetti collage of newspaper fragments overlaid with colorful butterflies. The bookstore is available for a wide range of private events, including book parties, cocktail receptions, seated dinners, press events, film & photo shoots, and more. The elegant and airy Salon, our main event space, can accommodate 150-200 people, depending on configuration. The adjacent Skylight Room may also be rented if more space is needed. The bookstore is also available for a full buyout and can accommodate 300-400 guests.
